NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT
Over the years the engineers at JKS Manufacturing have noticed an inherent flaw with the steering/suspension geometry of most lifted 2007-2015 Jeep Wrangler/Wrangler Uniimited JKs. To solve this issue they have developed an advanced geometry upgrade kit that integrates a new drag link flip kit to be used in combination with front control arm relocation brackets. These kits have been designed and thouroghly tested to fit the 2007-2015 Wrangler JKs with 2.5-5'' of lift to improve handling and overall driveability. The drag link flip kit is actually comprised of 2 main components. First, the new solid drag link that works with the factory adjustment collar and tie rod end at the pitman arm. This installation requires drill out the steering arm tapered hole in the passenger’s side knuckle and installing a precision machined tapered insert. The insert has a knurled outer surface for a slight interference fit making this setup extremely strong and eliminates any possibility of play or loosening over time. The insert can also be reused in the opposite position if the Jeep ever needed to be returned to the original steering setup. When used on lifted JKs this drag link flip flattens out the steering angles to provide a better, more solid steering feel over the factory setup. To properly compliment the new steering angles provided by the drag link flip, a front trackbar bracket is supplied that mounts to the factory track bar axle mount. This new bracket not only adapts the factory mount repositions the track bar mount, it also strengthens the factory mount by bracing it around the axle. The new track bar location mimics the drag link angle perfectly and eliminates bump steer. In order to accommodate these 2 new components, 3” tall front aluminum bump stop extensions are included to provide the proper clearance at full bump.
In addition to the steering and track bar correction, this system includes a pair of the JKS control arm relocation brackets. These brackets are engineered to improve the ride quality and handling characteristics by repositioning the front control arm mounting points on the frame to improve operating angle. This allows the suspension to operate more naturally over various terrain by minimizing the angle. As the control arms are used at more extreme operating angles bumps and other forces are transferred up through the control arm and into the frame rather than through the coils and shocks. The design of these brackets allows the use of both stock and aftermarket control arms for improved driveability out of most short arm suspension kits. The control arm correction brackets are built from heavy duty 7GA steel, boxed and fully welded for superior strength over bolt-together 2-piece style brackets. The combination of these brackets with the high steering components create an amazing handling package for lifted 2007-2015 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited JKs.
