If you have spent time out on the trail, navigating between tight trees and large boulders its only a matter of time until your factory plastic license plate mount gets bashed in or ripped off. With his in mind JKS Manufacturing developed a clever solution to eliminate the bulky factory license plate mount and reposition it in the center of the tailgate out of harms way. Designed as a solution for Wrangler JKs not using the factory spare tire mount this new license plate mount is built from 13-gauge laser cut steel and features (2) high powered SMD LEDs to illuminate the rear plate. The mount is CNC formed for an exact fit and finished with a durable glass black powder coat. It can be installed directly to the tailgate or in conjunction with the JKS8200 tailgate vent cover plate for a great look on the backside of your Jeep. Installation is simple and all the stainless steel mounting hardware is included along with the necessary wiring connections to tie into the existing 3rd brake light wiring. The factory rear license plate mounting holes are covered up by the supplied contoured steel fill plate along tailgate plugs for the 3rd brake light and spare tire bumper holes. This new license plate is designed to fit all 2007-2014 Jeep Wrangler/Wrangler Unlimited JKs and maintains state compliance for illumination of the license plate when the lights are in use.
