Making My Shocks Work After "The Stretch"
Recently we increased the rear wheelbase on my TJ Wrangler to 99”. In doing so, mounting the rear shocks became an issue. The factory brackets wouldn’t clear the spring bucket and I needed something that would mount close enough to the axle and still allow me to clear the gas tank, springs, and other accessories.
I looked no further than our own inventory for the solution. Our OGS922 was removed from the shelf and quickly welded to my rear axle. I was able to mount it more towards the center of the center of the axle. This will help clear the spring bucket and still fit on the upper factory mount. The location may make it vulnerable to rocks and some obstacles when backing up. However, the pin is not welded to the mounting plate, removing a nut and getting a replacement stud will fix any damage.
